Charting your career path as a Business Analyst can be somewhat confusing. What type of training do I need to get started? What kind of work experience will further my career? Will business analyst certification help me get ahead? What type of certificate program will look best on my resume? When it comes to choosing a certification program, there are a ton of choices. If you want the most widely recognized certificate, then you will need to pursue the Certified Business Analysis ProfessionalTM (CBAP®) designation from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). They also have introduced an intermediate certification called the Certification of Competency in Business AnalysisTM (CCBATM), which acts as a sort of halfway point on the road to getting your CBAP® . Also you could choose to get a certificate from an accredited University. For example, Boston University offers a Certificate in Business Analyst Fundamentals.
